Not sure what you mean by not "proper" HD. The EMP-TW10 supports up to 1080i and the difference between standard viewing through component (i.e. no HD output) compared to the HD signal is huge and jaw droppingly good :o). Basically if you're on a budget this set-up is amazing value for money.
