Microsoft have made a loss on each of the XBox 360's sold.
They make money back on the games, as they have a royalty fee given to them when each game is sold - this is common practice with -all- consoles. Playstation games have a royalty which is paid to Sony, regardless of who makes the game. The price increase in games is just the sign of the times..
