Proifle help needed!!
Can anyone help.... I had an old xbox live account. When i got my 360 i created a new offline profile. just tried xbox 360 live and have recovered my old account, all good so far, HOWEVER, despite transferring across I have lost my scores and achievements on my profile.
i now have two 360 profiles... can I transfer my new profile points and achievements onto my old and now current live account??

I don't think that you can transfer saved games between profiles using the Xbox functions. There is the memory card reader thing and related software that will allow you to transfer between profiles though. I'll try and find the original message.

anonymous...in the end I rang the MS helpline.. the chap on the other end didnt have a clue about was I was telling him and could only tell me to hook up to live with the new profile. When I pointed out that would cost me another £40 he said "yes your right but we cant do anything else".
the point of the story is....I had to restart from scratch again.
I think you will have too also.

Absolutely annoying. I started playing my new 360 last month and racked up what I thought was a lot of achievements. And when I connected to XBL one night, I saw that my gamerscore and achievements were back at zero.
Kind of ridiculous that there's no way to transfer achievements, gamerscores or anything. =/

yep, is not possible.
i rang helpline too and after like 1 hour in the phone they told me that there is no way you can keep you old achievements in your profile.
thats ridiculous... but that's how it is.

dude, just take ur offline account and go to connect to xbox live, put ur xbox live gamertag(or if not taken, use ur offline profile name as a gamertag) you will have ur acheivments and everything, just a new name(unless u use your offline account name as a gamertag) and ur account will be used for xbox live

because when you sign up to LIVE you're supposed to make sure you're logged into your offline profile and then join. I have made the same mistake you guys have and so to fix the poblem i will just wait until my LIVE subscription experies and then sign up again with my offline profile. Simple.

ITS JUST HAPPENED TO ME!!!!! my account was blocked by microsoft through no fault of mine and all they could say was sorry and that i would have to creat a new gamertag. Ive tried everything to transfer acievemnts and theres no way! and do you know whats even more annoying is the fact that i complete halo 3 with 50% of achievements and its wioped my saved games and everythin i had but the achievements still show. Its a poor show from microsoft they should have a database so that you can store your achiements onto it and only transfer them with a code or something so that you dont get all these ppl with millions of acheivements and theyhavent played a game.

i have been trying to sign up to xbox 360 live after entering my email and password and clicking submit the screen says live sign up un avalable please try later. my wireless connection test ok and msn account and password is ok have been trying 4 times a day for two weeks now i am getting annoyed can anyone help

xbox.com explains how to transfer a offline gamer tag to an online gamer tag with everything in tack. Why don't you guys search the internet rather than always looking for a the easy out and you dare call yourselves "professional gamers". You guys are like a kid lost without their parents, you hit a bump you cry about it. Come on this is the information age. Worst case, transfer using a usb flash drive and merge the file on your pc.Oh let me guess you didn't know you could do that. Of course not you in the box thinkers. Peace Out.

The trouble seems to be caused by people with offline profile names that are already taken online, and thus they're kind of forced into creating a new gamertag, which unfortunately creates a new profile too, without any of the game saves or achievements from your offline profile. The way around this is to make sure you change the name of your offline profile before you try to upgrade it to a live account.
However, if you've already done this, there is a possible solution. If you're still within the first 60 days, you can phone up and cancel your xbox live membership. Ask them to delete your account and profile. Then rename your offline account - aka profile - this is done by signing in to that account, pressing the xbox live button on your controller and pressing A. Then go to Edit Profile. Rename your offline profile to the gamertag you just had deleted (or any gamertag that's not taken), and re-sign up.
If it says the name is taken, back out and change your profile name to something that you think won't be taken and try again. This way you can be absolutely sure that you're upgrading your current offline profile to online, and not just creating a new profile.
Unfortunately if you've got any points on your xbox live online account that you created by accident, you'll lose those points as there seems to be no way to merge accounts. However, if you're on this page, you're probably here because you don't want to lose the points from your offline profile, and don't care about the one that you just created because of MS's crazy signup system!!!

What if when I bought my 360 at the moment I didn't have xbox live at all so when I made my account it was set offline, after that just recently I got the chance to get a card to get xbox live for 3 months. I really don't want to lose all my achievements points or changing my gamertag name, it says gt is taken because of my offline account but How can I just get online without having to remake an account or delete this one o_O?
