connect with your friends

Ive had this problem ( not connecting to my brother on live) a few times, I would fix it then it would present itself again. The one thing that i know for sure is the NAT has to be open .IF you have a router, (depending on your type) u need to go Change the Upnp (Plug and play to **DISABLE**. thats the only way I was able to get my NAT to open, whether I can connect with my bro remains to be seen, Ill let u know. The other thing is, I have DSL through EmbarQ, and there engineer told me that he has heard of this problem several times before and has helped them to BRIDGE the MODEM. so I did this and it worked...for about a year...then my moden got roasted in a thunderstorm had to change it, and thats why im back to this problem. To also have to remind yourself that sometime its not only you that may have the problem it may actually be the other guy your trying to connecct with. You should get up with you riend and talk it out, open NAT, make sure your xbox-xbox360 live ip address is the same as the address in the DMZ. Go over the port forwarding codes. some people say its not ness. but i say whatever it takes to make the damn thing work, and IF you have DSL...u need to call your provider and ask them about BRIDGING THE MODEM. This WILL work, cause it allows EVERYTHING to come in, sounds scary i know, but it works, mine has beeb bridged for 2 years now and have NEVER had a problem, well except for the lightning. I know im not very detailed , im sorry, but the bottom line is call someone that is an actual TECH that knows what the *** hes talking about **without having to look itup or ask his supervisor, and be patience...do NOT rush through this process, or u prolly will *** something up BAD>

#1 check the NAT. ( needs to be set on OPEN).In your router home page find the UPnP(plug and play) and DISABLE it. the reset your xbox and run a xbox live connect test the NAT will be at the bottom.

#2 Make sure your ip address on your xbox matches what u have in the DMZ settings in your router( should be under gaming and apps)

#3 Open port ranges ( under gaming and apps) 1 should read --Gaming-88--3074--address should be EXACTLY what your xbox live ip adress is given off, ifs its 104 then type in 104..if its .3 then type .3 and protocol is BOTH and click ENABLE #2 should read CPU 88--3074** this is what i have anyway**codes could vary** and --the address box should end with YOUR DEFAULT GATEWAY ADDRESS-protocol is both click enable...to get your default gateway address just go to click hit RUN black box will come up and type in IPCONFIG this will show you your adressess. I know this isnt pretty , but im only trying to give a few more suggestions since no i know im not the only one that has this problem. Feel free to correct me if you wish! and remember if you have to call Microsoft for this then I feel for you.Cause everytime ive done that they connect me with some slapnuts that dont know his head from a hole in the ground, your alot better off calling your Router company or Internet Provider use MS as a last resrt....thanks

re: connect with your friends

I have a friend on xbox live that I cant connect to. Both our NATS are open and I have no idea what to do. We can send messages and stuff but cant talk and cant play online with each other. We can both play fine with other people.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO!
