OXM leads this month with a review of Splinter Cell Double Agent, with some screenshots that look absolutely amazing. I'm not into stealth games that much, so didn't go for these on Xbox, PC or PS2, but the grpahics alone on this look astonishing, so will be going on my rental list.
There is also an update on soon to arrive games, and when they actually might arrive:
Burnout Revenge - June
Fight Night round 3 - March (it's on time!)
Far Cry Instincts predator - May
and, unfortunately Gears of War - September
I know a few of us were hoping for an earlier date for that.
We can ignore the section on shortages, as that's what we're here for, and if they gave us a mention at all, then we'd be able to help that many more people. I think they ignore places like us...
I know a couple around here are waiting for new on Oblivion. Well a nice 6 page review with detailed screenshots should do you for now. Due next month, you might want to get this.
If you've been playing the Final Fantasy XI beta, there is a guide, with helpful tips and a map to help you out.
Tiger Woods PGA Golf Tour 06 also benefits from a tips section.
A lot of players have complained about the DOA4 difficulty level, so a list of combos for each characters should help you out a little.
The mag is topped off with reviews, letters and a few other features (which you'll have to buy to find out!)
But no mention of this site on the letters page. Come on - those of you who got a 360 through here - let them know! There may be shortages, but if you know where to look.. :-)
Overall, this month's OXM is better than the last couple.

It's getting better but i am still cancelling my sub for a while and buying the excellent X360 gamer for £2.99.

I'm sorry to say it, but this magazine sucks big hairy ass.
It's some ridiculously overly positive about the 360 and negative about anything else. I know its an official magazine, but don't insult my intelligence by trying to convince me that the PS3 is going to be utterly pathetic and useless. Just accept it as a competitor and move on

I agree i also really dislike this mag. There are several reasons why:
i) The cost....true you get a demo disk etc, but if you have xbox live what is the point?
ii) Personally I hate the writing style, i like my 360 mags to be snappy and have a injection of humour. This mag has neither its just very very boring and long winded. It does have probably the most reliable information but if I wanted to read about all the technical details of games in a list format i'd look at the net.
iii) Theres a fear of doing something different, its just the same old features and all old sections.
iv) and finally, its so bias. We all know at launch some games were good, one or two could even be called classics. But as for some of the games like FIFA, GUN, Ridge Racer, were quite frankly appauling.
Correct me if I'm wrong but these games all got average scores in the mag, i fail to see how even 3/10 does some of those games justice.

I always bought the official xbox mag for the demo's more than anything, after buying 2 official 360 mags, they will be my last as i played the demo's weeks ago. As the actual content is not that good its pointless buying if you got live and the net.
For those without an internet connection it's the only way to get demo's. I bet they will lose an awful lot of sales now and hopefully may try to improve the mag to regain some readers.

Demo's are good if no internet connection, but otherwise, avoid.
Based on Amped 3 getting 9/10 I'm more than happy to give this magazine a 9/10 as well.

I actually like the DVDs, as the HDD won't allow me to keep everything forever. When a bigger HDD arrives, then maybe, but for now, those DVDs are the only way to keep an archive of the demos (ignoring the work on Xplorer 360 for now...) to play in the future.
Of course, you may never want to play them again, but the option is there.

I've bought 2 issues upto now of this and am not impressed so far.
They give off the impression that we're all about 12 years old. Yeah well cool ace wicked.
I also don't like the amount of slating the PS3 gets. It's really annoying and un-professional. You don't slate the competition you acknowledge it and just tell people why they should buy your product.
I'd say it 's also a bit more proof as to being "not really ready" with the release of the console. It's very scarce with news of games really tbh. The magazine has nowt to talk about and it shows or it might just be their delivery of it is not good enough.

yes, it is poor. you can read the whole thing in about 15mins and the demos are all from xbox live. And they have the cheek to charge £6 for it! ludicrous......

Official licenses cost money. Of course, let's not forget that last month theyhad the FFXI beta disc. You won't see things like that anywhere else.
I think that as the release schedules fill up we should start to see new material on the DVD that might not appear in Marketplace.

I just want to tell you that the idea for being a cop in the new gta would be great but the fact that its going to be in vice city really bugs me, you have used this map im 2 games already and its time for a totally new one, i suggest detroit or chicago. some where new would be nice. Just tellin you guys some pointers i think would be f***ing sweet to use. HUNTER

You guys should use some better cars for the next GTA. Like almost every lambo or ferrari and aston marton. Just some pointers, have us being able to fly jets. Oh and better weapons would be nice. Let us be able to play multiplayer without having to have xbox live, you guys should have both online and off line and also sytem link. JOHNNY

Just a thought that may entertain Treyarch(activision). This is a positive feed from players online....
why not only be the best in FPS warfare, but also a spaghetti western style COD, imagine North & SOUTH confederate,yankees,Indians,Bandits,gunslingers bounty hunters ect......locations like towns , forests,wagon circles, creeks train stops, N&S battle fields......and use of horses and gat guns & dynamite...to many ideas to put down...............the way COD performs onscreen i think this would be a triumph.... could you envision Treyarch doing and developing the best spag western......WE DO .If they went with something like The Good bad and the ugly theme for the main game it would be super cool..........
