New improved and enlarged textures provide more detail for both planes and terrain: Players will see sun glare on their cockpits, light shafts streaking through clouds and detailed shadows on the environment. Cities, buildings and facilities have also been enhanced to take full advantage of advanced lighting effects and shading to create an intense, realistic atmosphere for cities and military bases.

Battle damage from bullets, bombs and downed planes is visible and persistent on both terrain and buildings. Dramatic presentation: Visual perception filtering will be enhanced including extended burn effects and motion blur to create even more drama. Intense shockwaves from explosions fill the sky with debris using dynamic lighting and particle effects made possible by Xbox 360's system.
Enhanced sound effects: Perception filtering enhances the player's immersion. Sound treatment is actively managed in accordance to what the player does. Sound varies depending on the scene in order to create a more immersive, cinematic and dramatic atmosphere around the player.

New releases w/c 13th March
Two hot titles this coming week.
The first is a rehash of an existing game: Burnout: Revenge (£39.99). We have been promised new graphics and better gameplay, with some Xbox 360 special additions. After spending far too long smashing things on the Xbox version, we are lookig forward to this 360 edition. Great graphics and great gameplay.
In a completely different genre is The Outfit (£39.99). The demo of this is currently up on The Marketplace (if you have managed to download it yet!), and has been very well receieved. If you like WW2 and shooters, then you will like this. Grab the demo and give it a go first!

New Xbox 360 releases
For the first week in ages, we've got some new Xbox 360 releases this coming week! At last - something to spend those Christmas vouchers on!
Let's start with a hotly anticpated title: Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 3: Advanced Warfighter (£39.99). The graphics on this game look astonishing - this could be what many people consider the first full next gen title. If you like urban warfare, you will love this.
Another style of fighting altogether is offered by Fight Night Round 3 (£39.99), a boxing game with an amazing attention to detail. Many people have been impressed by the demo that has been on Marketplace, and the full release is meant to be even better, with better collision detection and faster punching.
EA Sports continue to expand their range of sports action sims, with NHL 2K6 (£39.99) and NBA 2K6 (£39.99). Yes, they will sell, and yes they look good, but after the FIFA world cup game, many people might hold back on these initially..
Finally, if you didn't get a free rmeote control with your Xbox Premium pack, then you might want to pick up a Joytech XBox 360 Media Remote Control (£8.99). That price is pretty good, so worth a look, for sure.

Next week releases (w/c 6th Feb)
Another quiet week in the world of the Xbox 360, with only Full Auto (£39.99) slated for release. And there may even be some doubt over that!
A rip-roaring driver, think fast cars and big guns. It seems quite fun, and if you want to try it out first, there's even a demo version on the Live Marketplace, so give it a go!
Remember you can read all about the latest PSP, DVD and Playstation 3 news on our related sites.

Playstation 3 Locator
Well, you asked for it, so the first version of the PS3 Locator is up and running, so that you can check who has the Playstation 3 in stock when it launches.
Obviously there's not a lot there yet, as the console hasn't launched! But as more news coems out, we'll kepe the site updated, and provide all of the links to the online stores that have been so successful on this site.
So pile in and have fun!

The Game Grid!
As new sections of the site have launched over recent weeks (price comparison and stock page), the navigation has got a little scrappy, so we have linked the top menu bar with the relevent menu sections, as it all becomes a lot eaiser to use. As an example, just click on 'Display cables' on the menu bar to see availability and prices for the cables, or Premium for Premium Systems availability.
Which leads us to The GameGrid. Just click GAMES on the menu bar, and you will get to our A-Z index of Xbox 360 games, current and future, with prices and links to the online stores that you know and love. We are in the process of adding more stores to this list, to make it the most comprehensive Xbox 360 games database around. As we get news about the titles, we will endeavour to keep the information up to date.
Each game has it's own message area, exactly like the message areas for stores, so you can take part in discussions on your favourites; ask for help, tips, and even lay down a challenge! If you just want to lurk in case news appears about Halo 3, for example, then you can subscribe to the RSS feed that each game page has.
Please pile in and have fun, and give us any feedback you have. None of this site is set in stone, so any suggestions are always appreciated.

Late night gaming
This was a bit of a flier, and may not actually be useful for many of you, but thid, for me is going to be indispensible, and will change my Xbox 360 gaming sessions completely.
I've got kids and a wife who's not much bothered by my gaming. She's not interested in it, but doesn't mind me playing my games as long as I don't hog the TV and shirk my responsibilities. This invariably means that most of my gaming is after 11pm or so, when I'm the only one up. Unfortunately, despite having my Xbox 360 plumbed into a nice powerful amp with 7.1 speakers, because everyone is in bed I have to play in silence or at least very quietly. It's just not right.
So, let's get creative. First of all, search through Amazon for Bluetooth headphones the Creative Labs CB2530 hit the mark, and have actually dropped a few quid since I bought earlier this week.
They work great with anything that has a 3.5mm headphone socket, such as an
iPod, PSP or pretty much anything that makes noises. But not my Xbox 360.
Now my TV is a lovely Pioneer HD panel, but it doesn't let me (easily) get analaogue sound into it if I'm using the component HD input. Partly becuase I've got all the sockets filled already, and can't be bothered moving stuff around, and partly because I don't want the audio RCAs snaking around the front of the media box. Basically it leaves me in the position of having full surround sound, or not sound at all.
However, two little connectors, adding up to a little over £3 change the situation...
First we need to take the stereo RCAs from the HD cable and plug them into this adaptor which takes the two phono plugs and converts to a 3.5mm jack. Then simply plug the jack into this adaptor which joins two 3.5mm jacks togther, and effectively gives us a 3.5mm socket.
From there, we just need to plug the headphone's bluetoothe dongle into the 3.5mm socket, turn the headphones on and recline with wireless headphones and wireless gamepad. Luxury.
It may not be multi-channel, but it's much more involving than whisper silent gaming. Late night gamers - give it a go!

New releases w/c 23 Jan
Some nice new games coming out this week, especially DOA4, so if you haven't got your orders in yet, then get them now!
Shoppers Page The discussion areas are great for news on what's happening, and which online and retail stores have stock of the Xbox 360 and its peripherals, but you need to pay close attention, or you may miss something important.
In a bid to ensure that you are up to date with all availability news, we have put together our Shoppers Page. This lets you see which stores have all of the different Xbox 360 goodies available, from the consoles themselves through to Hard Drives, VGA cables and even the Play and Charge cable.
Visit the page and bookmark it now! We will be adding more stores, and even possibly taking a look at the import market for those with a love of import gaming...
Mailing List We have also set up a mailing list. On the homepage, simply type in your email address and click the button. We will send an initial email, which you will need to reply to, which will confirm that you really do want to receive our emails. This is to ensure that only people who want to hear from us actually do.
Please note that although the mailing list is now open, you will not receive any email form us until during the week.
We can state now that we will NOT be selling or giving away any email addresses joined to our list. The addresses will only be used by this site for purposes of informing you when our competitions start, and general Xbox availability news. We will not be emailing you too regularly - this is not an alert service. You will also be able to leave the list at any time, details of which will be provided in your joining email.
For those interested, we are registered under the Data Protection Act, so will act responsibly with all email addresses gathered.

Game rental review
We've recently signed up to the Swap Game game rental service, and have written a review of the situation so far. We will keep this up to date with changes as the process moves along, with us changing games, new games arriving etc.
Hopefully it will be of some use to those of you deciding whether to rent or buy games.
